'Should of' instead of 'should have' or even 'should've' is anoying because it shows that someone doesn't know what the words mean.

I'm fond of slang though, and txt speak, because they involve some degree of imagination. You have to have a good grasp of English to be able to leave out punctuation and vowels or substitute symbols for letters and still be comprehensible. It shows just how much redundancy we have in formal discourse.
