A friend of mine has opened a new music bar, the Captain's Bar in 4 South College Street, Edinburgh, off Nicholson Street. It's excellent - good atmosphere and she's got a great line-up.
Saturday 12th June – 8.30pm Norman Lamont – acoustic Lamontations
Sunday 13th June – 8pm – lively guitar and violin with Rantum Scantum
Thursday 17th June 8pm Pia and Wood acoustic live sessionSaturday 19th June – 4pm afternoon session with fiddler and friends
Sunday 20th June – 8pm lively guitar and violin with Rantum Scantum
Wednesday 23rd June – Sunshine Delay country rock acoustic session
I'm heading there this evening to get away from this World Cup crap.
what's befallen the captain's bar? it used to be full of crabbit old men... i was always too frightened to go inside... and now it's a music venue? there must have been a mutiny.

There was! They staged a mass exit and haven't come back. They were miserable old sods, it seems. Now a lot of Edinburgh's music scene hangs out there.

Ha ha, just read Tychys comment and your reply. There wasn't too many of the old guys left when I came in. Now it's just lovely music at nights. Great atmosphere. All different acts
