Hee hee. Strawberry's and raspberry's, very good. Possibly strawbery's and rasbery's. Augusta Elton very good too.

If Mary Musgrove has a job, I suppose Isabella Knightley has to have one too, but dear me - she has five children, she fancies herself unwell and fragile, and she's dim. She's even less employable than Elizabeth Elliott, even without having to take her demanding bad-tempered husband into account.

Charlotte Lucas - along with the good mind and the tact, she has a healthy dose of cynicism and realism. She could work for the BHA and make sure everyone there has a healthy respect for methodology and epistemology.

Thanks Ophelia. I have taken some of your suggestions and edited accordingly. Am willing to hear second opinions on the recruitment options for the Austen candidates.

I don't think though Charlotte Lucas would work for BHA - I think she would work for a corporate lawyers rather than for a cause or voluntary organisation.

Brilliant!
Loved it. What about the guys? I can see Wickham as a high class pimp, or maybe the owner of the strip club where Lydia works. And Henry Crawford could do very well as a soap opera star, stealing the hearts of women around the world...

great blog!

Thanks Virginia. I don't know if Wickham would be an owner of a strip club. Though a sleazy guy on the make he does have a respectable facade. . .But the idea of them moving in the entertainment world is good. There's much more a sense of heirarchy there than there is in ordinary social life - an established rock star like Bono would be treated with the awe and respect that Darcy is . . . so that's food for thought. . .

Wonderful! Don't forget John Thorpe as a used car salesman though!
